Today Snapchat launched Geofilters On-Demand. A program that allows businesses, private events, and advertisers to publish their own Geofilters to the app.
This is a huge step forward and opens the doors to new possibilities. Companies have long been searching for a way to gain a following on Snapchat and how to communicate with millennials through the app. On-Demand Geofilters are now a way for companies to engage with their target audience.
These new filters can be used a variety of different ways, such as a coffee shop having a geofilter over their store so you can snap away at that gorgeous latte art. In a sense it’s the new “Check In” here, essentially taking on the role of Foursquare and Facebook Check Ins. But there’s a big difference, a picture is going to be shared with the company branding and people are going to actually look at it. So instead of a check-in that most people often ignore, it’s now the main focal point. So that’s a good thing, it’s a way for unique businesses to be discovered.
The new On-Demand filters also opens the doors to advertising, reaching out to that audience that is leaving Facebook and Twitter in droves. Then there’s the other side which lets users create their own filters for fun events such as birthday parties, weddings, and other fun events.
However there’s a side that not many people realize. These Geofilters need to look sharp and well designed. Often times with community Geofilters if the filter isn’t a good design people sometimes will not use them. That’s where Zolenda can help, we offer geofilter design services to make sure your geofilter is top of the line and something everyone will want to use.
